About Paula Leon
When Winston Churchill was asked to cut arts funding during World War II, he replied "Then, what are we fighting for?" It took me a while to identify art as something important for me. My main occupation is in finance, and I am happy to say that I really enjoy it. But there was always something there, about art, about creating, about seeing life through a different lens, that called me for a long long time. I find it crazy that in life, like in war, we sometimes lose sight of what we are fighting for. Often it takes us some time to recognize the important things that really contribute to our happiness. Things we must make time for. For me, it took a trip to India where I was taking photos with my phone non-stop. My friend said: "Why don't you take a photography course?" I said: "Huh?" And the rest, as they say, is history. From that moment on Art, in the form of photography, became one of the important things in my life that bring me happiness and I must make time for. I am so lucky to live in Madrid, where we are spoiled for choices in so many things, from food, to history and museums, and, of course, photography opportunities. My love for travel only grows each day, as my list of places to visit and photograph. We live in a beautiful world, and I feel blessed to be able to see it. My work was featured in PhotoEspaƱa in 2020, in their street exhibition.
